Solutions you want to achieve.
Services
When you work with me, we will articulate what it is you want and need to move forward, and then we will harvest the unique strengths you already have to get there. We will collaborate on changing the aspects that are not working for you. My approach does not begin and end with problems or the past—we only make those inquiries in order to frame solutions for the present.
The work we do together draws from several theoretical frameworks, including CBT, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, CPT, and EMDR to help you achieve your goals and aspirations. I have worked with adults, children, and families for over twenty years to identify solutions, open up growth, promote healing, and improve family functioning. Together, we can address:
Autism Spectrum/Asperger’s Syndrome
Anxiety and stress
Depression
Trauma and dissociation
Loss and grief
Family conflict
Anxiety
We will work on developing coping mechanisms and tools to manage overwhelming feelings, reduce stress, and improve your overall quality of life.
Depression
Therapy offers a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings, develop healthier coping strategies, and work towards a more positive outlook.
Autism
We will explore the underlying issues of autism and develop a plan that addresses the deficits rather than compensating for them. We will also address the changes that are helpful in families to restore functioning and improve overall quality of life.
Meet Leanne Mairs
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LICSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and then embarked on a journey called the Peace Corps. My time spent in the Peace Corps brought many helpful lessons, but one of the most helpful was discovering that there are two parts to any question: asking the question and understanding the answer. Each day of my life journey affords me opportunities to practice both. I then entered a joint program with The College of St. Catherine/University of St. Thomas and graduated with an MSW degree. Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of settings, including agency, County, Disaster Services, and finally, private practice. Most of my life has been spent seeking out opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me and in my community. I have come to believe that happiness is not a destination but a journey. A journey that I started some time ago.
